Due to age and chronic UV exposure, as we get older, human skin increasingly develops hyperpigmentation (e.g. age spots). The visible accumulation of melanin indicates a malfunctioning and/or overstimulation of the skin’s pigmentation process.  If the skin is exposed to UV light, not only are pigment cells (melanocytes) directly stimulated to form new pigment; oxygen radicals (ROS) are also formed in the epidermal cells. This process causes the skin cells (keratinocytes) to release various inflammatory substances.

    The optimum pre-treatment for the skin

    For hyperpigmented scars, acne scars or highly light-damaged skin, the skin should be pretreated prior to the application of the mask with an intensive exfoliation.

    The following processes are ideal:

    • Microdermabrasion
    • Enzyme peel/Biological peel
    • Fruit acid peel/Chemical peel

      For all other indications, a moderate exfoliation can also be advantageous.

      If required, MATRICOL® Bright Line could be combined with any further lightening preparations during the treatment. However, it is recommended to use a vitamin C concentrate or a lightening ampoule directly before applying the mask.

      MATRICOL® Bright Line is a highly effective product which – due to its special structure – features the best prerequisites for an optimum penetration. Nevertheless, all penetration intensifiers (excluding essential oils) may be used. 

      • Manual pressure directly on the mask
      • Heat treatments such as steam or red light
      • Warm liquid or heated activator to moisten the mask
      • Galvanotherapy with Iontophoresis
      • Ultrasound

        After every application of MATRICOL® Bright Line, apply a care product with a high Sun Protection Factor (SPF20+).

        The frequency of application can be individually adjusted to the needs and condition of the skin to be treated.
